چکیده

s : Pyothorax-associated lymphoma (PAL) is an EBV-associated lymphoma, which develops in the pleural cavity of immunocompetent patients with an over-20-year history of pyothorax. PAL tumor cells taken from a 72-year-old man revealed having mismatch repair (MMR) phenotype and expression of all Epstein-Barr virus latent genes except EBNA-3B. EBNA-3B gene in the derived cell line had frameshift mutation in mononucleotide repeats, indicating that EBNA-3B was the target for the MMR phenotype. Because EBNA-3B works as target antigens for host cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) responses via two HLAA11-restricted epitopes, loss of EBNA-3B expression may contribute for PAL cells to escape from host immune surveillance in the present case.

Expression of LMP and EBNA genes in Epstein-Barr virus-associated lymphomas in Hu-PBL/SCID mice.

Transplantation of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) from healthy humans with latent Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection into severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice results in development of EBV-associated human B-cell lymphoma. However, the expression of EBV genes in relation to lymphoma development has not been reported. We investigated latent membrane protein (LMP) and EBV nuclear ant...

Expression of Epstein-Barr virus in Hodgkin lymphoma Specimens in IRAN.

Background & Objectives: The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV( is related with various diseases including infectious mononucleosis, Burkitt's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and post-transplant lymphoprolifrative disorders. The aim of this study was to characterize the association between EBV and Hodgkin's lymphoma through EBERs in situ hybridization (EBER-ISH) in Iranian pat...

Pyothorax-associated lymphoma: relationship with Epstein-Barr virus, human herpes virus-8 and body cavity-based high grade lymphomas.

Pyothorax-associated lymphoma (PAL) is a newly-described entity developing several decades after artificial pneumothorax treatment for pulmonary or pleural tuberculosis. It is known to be associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) with constant expression of the two latent membrane proteins: latent membrane protein (LMP)-1 and EBV-associated nuclear antigen (EBNA)-2. We are reporting three new ca...

Seropidemiology of Epstein – Barr virus infection among asymptomatic

Introduction: Epstein – Barr virus (EBV) is a herpesvirus which establishes a persistent life-long infection in over 95% of adults world wide. Infection is usually asymptomatic but the virus is associated with a variety of disease, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), Burkitt’s lymphoma (BL), Multiple sclerosis MS, EBV-associated B-cell lymphoproliferative disease (BLPD), Hodgkin and non...

Papers Expression profile of human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) in pyothorax associated lymphoma and in eVusion lymphoma

Aims—Pyothorax associated lymphoma (PAL) occurs in a clinical setting of longstanding pyothorax or chronic inflammation of the pleura. Like primary eVusion lymphoma, it has an association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and is confined to the pleural cavity, but has differing morphological and phenotypic features. Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) has been consistently reported in primary eVusion lymp...
